The venue will be open from 6.30pm and the event starts at 7pm. The training will finish at 9.15pm, everyone is then welcome to continue some ‘liquid networking’ in the bar downstairs. If you cannot attend the training do join us afterwards.
Choosing your emotional state with acting style exercises
A central value of NLP is that we are responsible for the emotional responses that we choose to both fun and challenging events in our lives.
We will do some easy acting style exercises to experience just how easy it is to choose your emotional state and rapidly shift to another powerful state. I tried this exercise first during some acting training and found it a really powerful way lesson. The exercise is done by the whole group together at the same time, so there is no audience.
Changing your breathing, posture, imagination, voice tone, energy level and focus all help to change your emotional state. Each time you choose to change mood you can become gradually more aware and capable of making these rapid changes in future.
How can this be used in daily life? In the workplace or home life, you can remember how easy it was to choose your emotional state and reaction to events. This will help further improve your communication skills and power to influence.
