Anchoring is a phenomenon that the founders of NLP noticed when doing modeling work with Milton Erickson. Erickson used “cues” or “triggers” to help his client change their internal states.

Anchoring is different from traditional “stimulus-response” in that the stimulus does not have to be external. Something imagined or remembered can be a trigger for an internal state or emotion.

In NLP, anchoring is used in a variety of techniques involving learning, rapport, sales, advertising and many other contexts.

In this meetup we will explore anchoring and:

Discuss the difference between conditioning (Pavlov) and anchoring
Explore deliberate, unintended and natural anchoring
Demonstrate visual, auditory and kinesthetic anchors

Acuity is a key element in the practice of NLP techniques.

In NLP, acuity is the ability to use one’s senses to perceive fine details in the world around us. Using acuity helps you determine whether you are moving closer to or farther away from your goals.

In this meetup we will explore:Types and uses for acuity
Popular applications and myths for acuity, e.g. the TV show “Lie To Me”
Interactive exercises to increase sensory acuity

Come and enjoy interesting people learning NLP techniques and principles.

Is NLP childsplay?

Some people say that NLP is complicated or challenging to learn. We think that NLP is as easy to learn as childsplay.

Join us in a truly unique meetup where we talk to children who have learned NLP techniques and apply them in unique and fun ways to cope with the challenges in their lives.

The children will discuss their experiences and guide the group through their favorite technique.

NLP is a methodology that generates techniques and processes by modeling a variety of unique people. The techniques are generally fun and easy to learn and allow people to gain new thoughts, feelings and ways of behaving.

In this meetup, we'll describe and demonstrate a variety of NLP techniques in a fun, interactive session. We'll also discuss a model for knowing what to do when with certain techniques.

With the holidays (and a struggling economy) upon us, we received many inquiries asking us how to deal with stress caused by negative feelings.

Come to our Meetup and experience a simple yet powerful technique to help you become resourceful when you are stressed and how to manage your internal thinking so you can feel better.

You'll also get a "taste" of some basic NLP that can be used in a variety of situations.

Focusing on and achieving outcomes is one of the “pillars” of NLP. Discovering and applying tools, techniques and processes to achieve outcomes is a large part of NLP.

The possibility of achieving an outcome is directly related to a number of “conditions” that should be in place in order to produce an effective result.

NLP explores these “conditions” to help individuals access resources and increase the likelihood that they will achieve their outcomes.

Join us for a presentation and discussion of “conditions” and NLP processes that can build a clear path to achievement.

Most people use the beginning of the year to make transitional goals (New Years resolutions) to adopt changes that they already know they need. Unfortunately, by the end of January, many people lose momentum.

A more familiar (an perhaps more effective) time of year is the traditional end of summer beginning of school year when many people are starting new ventures (school, work projects, jobs, etc.). From when we are very young, we are already "anchored" into this time of year as a transitional time (and the seasons support this transition as well).

Come join us for a discussion of transition from an NLP perspective. The discussion will include:An overview of NLP
The three phases of transition
Applications of the three phases

Many people surprise themselves when they have accomplished something important or achieved a significant personal goal. Why are they so surprised? Were they not conscious of the processes and behaviors that led them to success?

Quite often successful people can't describe what drove them to accomplishment, yet the path to their success had a structure.

During this meetup we'll discuss how NLP uncovers unconscious strategies for success and some established techniques for building and maintaining "drive".

Wouldn't it be great if you could resolve conflicts and improve your relationships? Have a conversation, instead of a confrontation?

This program covers one of the most challenging behavioral patterns. This pattern can create the perception that a person is not open to others ideas or the person being labeled a "know it all".

We'll discuss how to recognize the pattern and avoid the emotions that are triggered by this pattern. We'll also learn to utilize words that work to avoid confrontation and resolve issues more easily.
