About Chicago NLP Practice Club

NLP Practice Club - Chicago's place for interactive World Class Communication Skills trainings.

The club is open to any communication novice, who wants to
- become an even better communicator
- learn the process of growth and personal development
and to veteran communicators, who are already certified in NLP (neuro linguistic programming).

The objective of the workshops are to get the NLP knowledge 'into the muscles' of every attendant.

Participants have a chance to practice immediately the "new" NLP tool(s). The hands-on exercises are done in small groups (typically in pairs or 3's). They conclude with positive peer feedback.

Ultimately - the overall NLP workshop experience is to be innovative, enjoyable and highly stimulating.

Definition of NLP:

NEURO means THINKING

LINGUISTIC means LANGUAGE

PROGRAMMING is our BEHAVIOR

---------------------------------------------------

OUTLINE:

A) Meetings take place in a mobile phone- and PDA-free setting.
We ask to keep the devices turned OFF, while attending a meeting. Thanks

B) As a COURTESY to all devoted attendees, who travel from as far away (50+ miles) to attend a meeting & arrive ON TIME, please also be ON TIME.

C) We are NOT a SOCIAL club !
We are a serious NLP (neuro linguistic programming) study group. Why? We all like to practice NLP communication techniques to make more money ( $$$ ) with our ever improving NLP skills!

D) For-profit "Training" mentors, counselors as well as people who like to sell promotional / training products & services are NOT appreciated to apply for membership at this NLP practice club.

E) Event fee: USD 15.00 per person to be paid via PayPal at the time of RSVPing YES.

F) A cancellation is excepted up to (twenty four) 24-hours prior to a meeting. A service/handling charge of (USD 3.00) will deducted from the event fee and credited via the online payment method. There is no refund if a cancellation is initiated in less than (twenty four) 24-hours prior to the meeting.

G) Besides not being a "social" meetup, attendees are to kindly understand not to bring there children with them. Sorry there is no baby-sitter service available at the venue. Also it's sort of disctracting to have a child being watched by an attending parent during both the lecture and the interactive sessions. (our meeting time is around 2 3/4 hours) Thank you for your understanding!

H) Guidelines for a written introduction.

Potential statements like:
.... I like to meet with like-minded people ...
.... I like to improve my communication skills ...
.... I'm curious about NLP and wonder what it's all about ...
.... I'm fascinated with NLP and like to more about it ...
.... I've poor communication skills ...
.... I read about NLP in books and want to learn more about it ...

are -ALL- fully understood. That's why this meetup exists.

Don't include these types of statements in your personal introduction. Rather be more explicit.

Obviously , the more explicit your description is, the more it will not just benefit you but this NLP meetup as a whole. Wouldn't this outcome be in your mind to start with ?

Ultimately, would it then not be the most opportune to rather state:

1. what your outcome for mastering NLP (neuro lingustic programming) is,
2. in what way other members of this meetup will benefit from you being a member too,
3. your professional background - or, if you are a student then what's the major
4. your level of NLP knowledge / familiarity at this point of time

We suggest to keep the introduction low key and pithy. (Cover at least 3 of these 4 points). There is space for some 30 - 35 words. ( PLEASE spell-check before you release your posting)

You don't need to repeat your name in the decription.

It's suggested NOT TO mention in this introduction your phone/fax #'s, www, address, e-mail or company name.

Be noted that both existing members and those who consider joining this NLP meetup tend to review the our members's introduction. Some meetup fellows may use it as a determining factor to attend a meeting or join this group at all. Ultimately your powerful personal introduction will be to erybody's benefit. Would you not agree?
